Overview
When creating a Space from a URL, Napster Spaces scans and analyzes the website to extract content used to generate the AI agent. In some cases, this analysis may fail due to access restrictions on the target site.
Why this happens
Some websites are:
Geo-restricted (only accessible from specific countries)
Protected by access layers such as Cloudflare or similar services
Because Napster Spaces servers operate outside certain regions, these sites may not be accessible during analysis. Instead of the actual website, our system may receive a blocking or challenge page (for example, a Cloudflare access page).
What you might see
The Space title or content appears incorrect (e.g. “Cloudflare”)
The generated agent does not reflect the real website
Current behavior
If a site clearly fails to load, Spaces will prompt you to create an agent using a prompt instead.
In some cases, access-protected sites return a valid page rather than an error, which can lead to unintended agent creation.
Recommended workaround
If your site is geo-restricted or protected:
Create the agent directly from a prompt
-
(Optional) Attach the URL as a knowledge base
The AI may attempt to reference the site when unsure
Content quality may be limited due to access restrictions
What we’re working on
Improved detection of Cloudflare and geo-blocking responses
Clearer messaging when a site cannot be analyzed
Evaluating whether alternative providers or approaches can better handle protected websites
When to use prompt-based creation
We recommend prompt-based agent creation if:
Your site is region-locked
Your site is behind Cloudflare or similar protection
You control the content and can describe it accurately in a prompt
